Settler(開拓者) †

• 帝国を拡大させる新たな都市を作るため、Settlers(開拓者)を作成してください。
  • 都市が拡大してくると、その土地だけでは全住民が満足に生活するだけの資源を賄いきれなくなります。その時、冒険的な市民の一団は彼ら自身で、彼ら自身の新天地を探すために街を立っていきました。やがて新天地にふさわしい場所が見つかると、彼らは新しい家を作り、新たな都市を中心に開発を始めました。この営みは繰り返され、かつての新天地たる都市は同じように新たな新天地を求める入植者を送り出してきました。古代の帝国の時代から新世界の発見と入植の時代に至るまで、文明はこの営みによって歴史を紡ぐ事を許されたのです。

• Build Settlers to expand your empire with new cities.
  • When cities grew to a size where the resources were insufficient to adequately insure a decent standard of living for the populace, adventurous groups of citizens set out on their own in search of a place to build a new city. Once a suitable site was found, the settlers would build their new homes, and develop the land surrounding the city. Eventually the whole process repeated, and the new city would send out settlers of its own. This process allowed civilizations to grow throughout history, from the empires of the ancient world to the discovery and settlement of the New World.

Worker(労働者) †

• Worker（労働者）は、都市周辺の国土を改良し、trade route(交易路)を確立させるための道路を敷設します。
  • あらゆる時代、あらゆる文明において、人民の大多数は労働者でした。農業に従事するにせよ、あるいは商業や工業にせよ、彼らの活動が、いかなる国家の成功にも不可欠な経済基盤を形作っています。長い時間をかけて、労働者は、丘を掘り、広大な森林を切り倒し、荒れた土地に水をまいて肥沃な農園に変えるといった絶えざる活動によって、まさに大地の表面を作りかえてきました。20世紀の終わりごろまでには、過剰な伐採と重工業による汚染が、世界環境への脅威を引き起こすことが明らかになってきました。
• Use Workers to improve the land around your cities and build roads that help establish trade routes.
  • The majority of people in all civilizations throughout time have been workers. Whether engaged in farming, commerce, or industry, their actions form the economic infrastructure without which no nation can succeed. Over time, the endless activity of workers has reshaped the very suface of the land by mining hills, cutting down huge stretches of forest, and irrigating hostile terrain into fertile farmland. By the late 20th century it had become apparent that excessive deforestation and pollution from heavy industry posed a threat to the world's environment.

Fast Worker(熟練労働者) †

• Fast Worker(熟練労働者)は道路や線路、国土を改良できる、インド固有のユニットです。 このユニットは通常のWorkers（労働者）よりも遠くに移動することができ、また、同じターンで移動と改善の両方を行うことができます。
  • インドの人々は極めて頑健で働き者です。その引き締まった、しなやかな身体は、世界有数の厳しい気候 - インド亜大陸に目立って多い砂漠、ジャングル、危険なほど高い山々など - でのもっとも困難な労働にも耐えることができます。その上これらの地形の至る所に、寺院や神殿や砦-たくましいインドの人々の強さと決断力の証 - を見ることができます。
• Build the special Indian Fast Worker to construct roads and railroads and to improve your land. It can move further than regular workers, allowing it to move and carry out an action on the same turn.
  • The Indian people are remarkably sturdy and hard-working. Their compact, wiry frames can stand up to the most difficult labor in some of the world's most difficult climates - of which there is a remarkable abundance in the Indian subcontinent, including desert, jungle, and perilously high mountains. Yet across all of this terrain can be found temples, shrines, and fortresses - monuments to the strength and determination of the hardy Indian people.

Spy(スパイ) †

• Spies（スパイ）はどこでも、敵の領土さえ探検します。あなたの敵が送り込んだスパイが国土に潜まないように防衛してください。
• Build Spies to explore anywhere even in enemy territory. Keep some in your own territory to uncover spies your opponents have sent to explore your lands.

Jewish Missionary(ユダヤ教伝道者) †

• Jewish Missionary(ユダヤ教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へJudaism（ユダヤ教）を布教してください。もしTemple of Solomon（ソロモン王の神殿）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Judaism in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Temple of Solomon

Christian Missionary(キリスト教伝道者) †

• Christian Missionary(キリスト教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へChristianity（キリスト教）を布教してください。もしChurch of the Nativity（聖誕教会）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Christianity in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Church of the Nativity

Islamic Missionary(イスラーム教伝道者) †

• Islamic Missionary(イスラーム教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へIslam（イスラーム教）を布教してください。もしMasjid al-Haram（カーバ神殿）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Islam in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Masjid al-Haram.

Hindu Missionary(ヒンドゥー教伝道者) †

• Hindu Missionary(ヒンドゥー教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へHinduism（ヒンドゥー教）を布教してください。もしKashi Vishwanath（ヴィシュワナート寺院）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Hinduism in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Kashi Vishwanath.

Buddhist Missionary(仏教伝道者) †

• Buddhist Missionary(仏教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へBuddhism（仏教）を布教してください。もしMahabodhi（大菩薩寺）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Buddhism in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Mahabodhi.

Confucian Missionary(儒教伝道者) †

• Confucian Missionary(儒教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へConfucianism（儒教）を布教してください。もしKong Miao（孔廟）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Confucianism in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Kong Miao.

Taoist Missionary(道教伝道者) †

• Taoist Missionary(道教伝道者) を利用して、好意的な都市（若しくはOpen Borders(国境開放）しているライバル都市）へTaoism（道教）を布教してください。もしDai Miao（岱廟）を所持しているなら収入が増加します。
• Use this missionary to actively spread Taoism in friendly cities (or rival cities with whom you have Open Borders). This increases your income if you have the Dai Miao.

Work Boat(作業船) †

• 魚船、捕鯨船、および後の時代には海上油田施設を作成することのできる非武装船です。Work Boats（作業船）は外洋に出ることはできません。
  • 作業船は海上で役に立つ作業を行うために作られた船です。作業船はそれぞれの特定の用途に応じた様々な種類があります、引き網とロブスターポットを備えた簡単な漁船から、小さいが強力な砕氷船、海上油田施設そのものとして働くことのできる巨大な船まで。

• Unarmed vessels that can create fishing boats, whaling boats, and (in late game) oil rigs. Work Boats cannot enter Ocean spaces.
  • A work boat is a vessel designed to perform useful tasks at sea. Work boats come in a variety of forms, depending upon their particular employment - from simple fishing boats designed to deploy nets and lobster pots to small but powerful tugboats to mighty icebreakers to massive vessels capable of moving an entire oil platform.

Great Prophet(偉大な預言者) †

• Great Prophet（偉大な預言者）は、宗教的のShrine（聖地）を即座に建設できます。
• Great Prophets allow you to immediately construct a religious Shrine.

Great Artist(偉大な芸術家) †

• Great Artists（偉大な芸術家）はGreat Work（不朽の名作）を作成することで、都市に莫大な文化を与えます。
• Great Artists can create a Great Work which provides enormous culture to the host city.

Great Scientist(偉大な科学者) †

• Great Scientists（偉大な科学者）はAcademy（アカデミー）を造ることが出来ます。（Academyは都市の研究を大きく増加させます。）
• Great Scientists can build an Academy, which greatly increases a city's research.

Great Merchant(偉大な商人) †

• Great Marchant（偉大な商人）は遠く離れた都市とのTrade Mission（交易ミッション）で莫大なゴールドをもたらします。 交易ミッションは本当に遠くはなれた都市で完成させるようにしてください。
• Great Merchants can complete a Trade Mission in a foreign city which generates a lot of gold. Try to complete it in really far away cities.

Great Engineer(偉大な技術者) †

• Great Engineers（偉大な技術者）は都市の生産を即座に完了させることができます。
• Great Engineers can instantly complete a city's active production.

Great Spy(偉大なスパイ) †

• 諜報ポイントを増幅するスコットランドヤードの建設が可能です。また1文明に対し3000諜報ポイントを即座に獲得することもできます。敵領土の探索にも利用できます。(訳注 完全に不可視)
• Use the Great Spy to explore enemy territory, receive a massive Espionage point bonus against one opponent or build a Scotland Yard building for increased Espionage output.

Animal（猛獣） †

• 無防備な開拓者はAnimals（猛獣）の餌食です！
• Animals hunt unprotected settlers! Beware!!
